AnimeCoin partnered with CDS to re-brand and design a new mascot from the ground up! With the creative direction of the Bizurk / AnimeWorld.io team, CDS was able to produce the new AnimeCoin official mascot, “Anico.”

Our clients include IDW, Anime Expo and Loot Crate. Some of the more interesting work we do involves mascots. We did the mascot designs for Internet Explorer, Anime Festival Asia and (yes) Nutaku.” – Ng KC, General Manager

Thoughts on the AnimeCoin Project

AnimeCoin intends to build a platform for artists to trade and sell their digital artwork. Blockchain technology will help verify ownership and ensure digital art is not stolen! Ng KC of CDS had this to say about the technology AnimeCoin is developing:

AnimeCoin Mascot Design Sheet by CDS

The art community has always been welcoming of new technology and happy to experiment with it, even if it might not be something familiar. There is a publication platform, Civil, that intends to use blockchain technology to protect journalists against

censorship and intellectual property disputes. If it can work for journalism, why not anime art? It might sound more frivolous but given the concern that artists always have for art theft, applying the technology to enforce appropriate credits and ownership will be quite a boon to artists.

It is common for us to encounter art theft, be it from unscrupulous China-based manufacturers or Twitter/Instagram art-sharing accounts with their “Credits to the artist”. Previously, it has been almost impossible for artists to actively discover these acts of copyright infringement and take action on it. So the concept of a blockchain-based platform that allows creators to maintain control and ownership of their creation through digital fingerprinting and tracing is very appealing indeed!” – Ng KC

Mascot Fan Art

Recently after unveiling the new mascot, we have received some incredible fan art of Anico!

Closing Thoughts

“It has been our pleasure to work with Bizurk and Anime Coin to create the base design for Anime Coin’s mascot. She doesn’t have a name yet but I’m sure you guys can come with a beautiful name for her. Please go and create gorgeous artworks of her!” – Ng KC

Her name of course, is Anico!

The New Mascot

Below is the design specification sheet for our new mascot! Her name is Anico.

Who is she?

During the day she works at her job as the AnimeCoin official mascot, more importantly she is the first anime artist to draw exclusively on the blockchain. The blockchain is the revolutionary technology that powers cryptocurrency and this helps run highly advanced technology such as the AnimeCoin soon to be launched anti-theft mechanism which can scan artwork on the blockchain and detect counterfits or stolen artwork!

Her personality

Because she gets do to what she loves as a job (art) she is always happy and joyful. The future for the AnimeCoin project is looking very bright and her bright blue eyes reflect the happiness and future she looks forward to.

What are the squares around her?

Those squares are representations of the blockchain data which she is constantly surrounded by. Her digital paint brush emits these blocks with every stroke and her fluorescent RGB elements seen throughout her clothing and headphones represent the digital aspect of her existence.

Looks like she unbuttoned her ribbon?

Take a closer look and see the Katakana ア which is the first letter in the Japanese word for “Anime” (アニメ).

What is an AnimeCoin?

Much like BitCoin AnimeCoin is a currency which is used to power the AnimeCoin blockchain. It is merely an incentive for nodes to continue contributing to the AnimeCoin network, in other words payments made to “miners.”

A visual representation of the coin might look like these items below:

Moving forward, these AnimeCoins should become the primary currency used by anyone who wants to trade and distribute their artwork on the AnimeCoin platform! The coin is so much more than just a form of payment. Each transaction carries special data, including information on the artwork, the owner of the art, and automated smart contracts (in the case of commissions). This is what makes AnimeCoin such a powerful tool and necessary for the use of the anime artwork platform.

What is the Purpose of this Contest?

This contest is mostly just for fun, there is not real monetary prize or special reward. Since everybody will be winning our prize, which is to get featured on our official facebook page which is growing fast and has reached over 6,000 LIKES.

Since this is a newly designed mascot, we don’t really have a lot of other poses or unique perspectives on her. We want to invite the art community to join us on our journey as we discover new features and ideas about Anico ourselves! Feel free to be creative, draw her in many different poses and environments, and visualize her in a whole new way.

Being able to view Anico from the fan’s perspective will allow us to visualize her in a brand new way and might even provide inspiration for some official artwork of her in the future. Who knows, we may even hire some of the best artists to join our art team!

Have fun and be sure to submit your artwork before the deadline if you want to get featured!

How to Buy AnimeCoin in 5 Easy Steps

How to Buy AnimeCoin in 5 Easy Steps 1280 720 Andrew

This guide is specifically designed for those who are interested in participating in the AnimeCoin revolution but have zero experience with Crypto. In five easy steps, this guide will show you have to buy AnimeCoin from Cryptopia, currently the only exchange that offers AnimeCoin.

The steps are pretty simple:

  1. Buy Bitcoin
  2. Join Cryptopia
  3. Transfer Bitcoin to Cryptopia
  4. Find ANI on Cryptopia
  5. Buy it!

The guide below outlines the easy to follow steps to submit your first AnimeCoin order!

Step 1: Get Bitcoin

If you already own Bitcoin you can skip this step!

You can’t buy AnimeCoin with a credit card, most of the crypto exchanges work by using BTC (Bitcoin) or ETH (Etherium) as a base unit for exchanging coins so this means you need to first obtain BTC in order to get AnimeCoin.

Luckily, if you are a US citizen or in most western countries, you can easily sign up for CoinBase, Shapeshift, or Bitstamp account and purchase your first BTC using a credit card or bank transfer. These are some of the most trusted Fiat to Crypto exchange platforms in the world and are a great place to start your crypto journey.

Because you are interacting with fiat, these exchanges may require you to verify your identity or fill out tax information. The process shouldn’t take long to complete.

Once you have verified your identity and linked your bank account or credit card, it’s time to buy BTC! Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to buy one whole bitcoin in order to start trading! For some people, $9,800 for a single bitcoin is too much!

Luckily, you can buy any amount you need of BTC like $100 worth and you can still transfer that amount and use it for exchange purposes!

Step 2: Get a Cryptopia Account

Cryptopia is currently the only exchange that has AnimeCoin listed so this is the only exchange you will need to sign up for in order to get your AnimeCoins. Unlike the previous exchanges, you won’t have to go through so much paperwork or identity verification since you will now be dealing directly with BTC > ANI.

Once you have successfully created your account on Cryptopia, you’re ready for the next step!

Step 3: Transfer BTC to Cryptopia

For most people, this step will be the most difficult but if you follow these instructions properly it will soon become pretty simple!

Overview: Basically what we will be doing is transferring BTC from your Coinbase account over to Cryptopia. To do this, you will need to “Withdraw” BTC from Coinbase and “Deposit” it into Cryptopia. You will need to copy / paste your Cryptopia BTC wallet address into the Coinbase Deposit location.

ON COINBASE: Go to the “Accounts Tab” and locate your BTC balance. Beneath the Bitcoin logo you should see a paper airplane icon and a “Send” button.

Press this “Send” button and a form should come up asking for the BTC address you will be sending your Bitcoin to.

ON CRYPTOPIA: Look for the Bitcoin logo in the top navigation and click on the submenu item “Balances.”

On this screen you should see all your balances. At this point, we are assuming that you have zero BTC on Cryptopia, if this is the case you need to simply search “BTC” in the search bar. Make sure that “Hide Zero Balances” is unchecked.

Once you are able to locate the Bitcoin (BTC) item on Cryptopia, click on the green Deposit icon (see image below).

A pop up should appear with a QR Code and the Deposit address below the code. Copy the Deposit Address.

BACK TO COINBASE: Paste the deposit address into the Send form. Confirm the amount you want to send, and click send. You may also need to confirm this send transaction via email or SMS.

*Please note that BTC transfers usually take 5 – 3o minutes to complete, so do not be alarmed if you do not see your BTC balance on Cryptopia for a few minutes.

Step 4: Search “ANI” on Cryptopia

Once you have received your BTC on Cryptopia, you are finally ready to buy some AnimeCoins!

In the top navigation bar, under “Exchange” you should see a sub-menu item called “Markets,” click on that button to load the exchange markets view.

On this page, in the top search bar, type in “ani” and the AnimeCoin listing should be the first item to appear (noted with the silver coin icon and the ticker ANI).

Click on this item and you should now be presented to the AnimeCoin trade page. Alternatively, you can also click HERE and this should take you to the AnimeCoin trade page.

The trade page should look something like this.

Step 5: Buy ANI

On the ANI trade view page you should see two boxes below the graphs, one says “BUY ANI” the other says “SELL ANI.” The guide below explains what each item in this box represents.

In order to buy, you will need to manually type in the amount of ANI you want to buy, in this example we are typing in 10,000 into the top box labeled “amount.”

Price is the price you are proposing to buy ANI for. This is something you will need to input as well, and you can just copy / paste the “last price” from the top of the trade view page.

The reason you have to input the last price manually is because you can also put in orders for a lower price, and if the price ever drops to your proposed buy order, you can complete the order at a lower price. However, there is no telling whether the price will ever drop to the point you want, and you may end up waiting a long time before you ever get your ANI. In this example, we use the “last price” so we can submit and order and receive our coins quickly!

After you paste in the price, the rest of the items should automatically populate. Assuming you have enough BTC to make the purchase, you can click the “Buy ANI” button at the bottom and complete your order!

AnimeCoin Hits #4 Best Performing Coins This Week!

AnimeCoin Hits #4 Best Performing Coins This Week! 1829 998 Andrew

Yes it finally happened, April 19th, 2018, AnimeCoin hits the top charts for the biggest gainers of the week!

We have only just begun announcing our plans for the future Art Exchange and other exciting projects and partnerships we are working on and already have seen this awesome spike in the price.

There were many recent article and news features about AnimeCoin this month as the price spike gained the attention of many.

Some speculators might point to the fact that AnimeCoin doesn’t have a real use case, was a dead project for many years, and is only traded on one exchange, however we hope to change people’s minds about this project as we introduce a new use case that will truly provide value to our users.

You can read all about our future art exchange project as we move forward with development and come closer to our ANIME fork, which should happen Summer 2018.
